Net Visionary Winners '09
Webstrong Wins at the Annual IIA Net Visionary Awards 2009!
This year we were lucky enough to pick up an award in the category for Web Developer Excellence. This was awarded for our work on Twission, which is a new type of search engine for Twitter, designed to show you how connected you are to the people in the results.
The winner was decided by public vote, so a huge thank you to everyone who voted for us. We're really delighted to receive this prestigious award. Other winners on the night included our friends at RateMyArea for Best Use of Social Media, Damien Mulley for Best Business Blogger, and the overall Net Visionary winner was awarded to Muzu.tv.
Speakers on the day included Colm Lyon from Realex Payments, Trey Harvin from dotMobi, Ronan Harris from Google and Colm Long from Facebook.

DooSync - Our New Web App
One of the most challenging parts of building a web application is getting it to talk to other systems. And a lot of these productivity apps store similar kinds of information such as clients, projects and tasks.
While finishing off the last few bits and pieces of Footprint, which we're launching later this summer we needed a way to synchronise users' data with other popular web apps that they might also use. So rather than cluttering up Footprint with different sync'ing tools we've decided to release it as a seperate application called DooSync.
At launch, DooSync will support synchronisation between the following apps:
And we plan on adding more web apps to this list as we go.
We don't have a launch date for this new app just yet, but as soon as we do, you'll hear about here, on our new company newsletter.

Calom - Client Website Launch
We're also delighted to announce the launch of a new client website for CalomTech.com.
Calom are developing software for the next generation of television set top boxes. These devices will blur the lines between standard TV broadcasting and on demand content from the Web. We're particularly excited about this project because Calom was another Hothouse company and also happen to be our neighbours in our new building in the IFSC.
The main site is powered by Drupal but the blog section is all Wordpress. Please give the site a visit and leave a comment if you want to voice your support or give any feedback to the guys.
Well that's it for our first edition of the Webstrong Newsletter. We'll be running these newsletters every now and again to keep you all up to date on what's happening behind the scenes at Webstrong.
Best wishes,
Iarfhlaith Kelly
